System Change FAQs
Valera Health is transitioning electronic health record systems in order to increase the efficiency of our patient care operations and your experience with Valera. Below are answers to some common questions about the transition.
Accessing Care FAQs
You will access sessions via a link sent to your email from noreply@ottohealth.com. You can join sessions by clicking the link. You will also receive a text message 15 minutes prior to the appointment if you have a cell phone number on file and can join via phone if needed.
See instructions here.
You will receive an email inviting you to enroll in the PxP portal from noreply@nextgen.com on or after October 16th. Additionally, if you schedule a new intake appointment, an invite to create an account will be sent.

You will access sessions via a link sent to their email, rather than directly through the patient portal. For provider communication, assessments, access to medical records, and scheduling, we strongly recommend that you set up an account on the patient portal. That said, the video visits themselves are not accessed through the patient portal–they are accessed via email links and patients do not need an account to sign up.
Yes, you will have access to the app for the next 90 days before we remove access. During this time, the app will redirect you to Nextgen via a banner. You will not be able to access the app starting on January 1st, 2025.
Communications your care team will occur primarily through the patient portal messages functionality.
You can cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before the appointment via the link. Once your appointment is less than 48 hours away, you will have to call the practice at 646-450-7748 to cancel or reschedule. You can also contact your Care Coordinator or Provider via the patient portal.
